Entertaining Retford for over 100 years.

Retford Musical Theatre Company began in 1920 as Retford and District Amateur Operatic Society. The first performances were those of Gilbert and Sullivan Light Opera gradually transitioning to the modern musical theatre we know today. The society produced regular shows, only stopping during the years of World War 2.

RMTC is an all-inclusive company and welcomes all from 17 years plus. We have our youth group, The MOB which is for young people age 8 years to 18 years.

RMTC is a non-profit organisation where all funds from memberships and productions are put back into the Company to enable us to continue to perform and entertain.

We produce three shows a year: a pantomime in December, a full length musical in May and another musical production with our youth group in July. In addition we enjoy singing and performing at events in the local area.

RMTC is run for members by members for the purpose of enabling people to enjoy the art of performing, or engaging in other related activities such as technical and backstage roles. A committee of members organises the day to day running and makes the operational decisions. Any members are able to be a part of this committee.

We hope to continue entertaining Retford for another 100 years!
